Six people shot in mass shooting, including two kids

WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday evening, a deadly shooting resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, including two children. The incident occurred in a residential area just before 6 p.m.

According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith, a group of suspects disembarked from a vehicle and began firing into a crowd of pedestrians. The emergency services reacted swiftly after being alerted through a series of 911 calls approximately 10 minutes after the reported start of the onslaught.

The police identified multiple gunshot victims when they arrived at the scene. Four victims- two adult males, one woman, and a nine-year-old child- were immediately attended to and promptly transported for medical care to a nearby hospital. After this, a 12-year-old minor also made his way independently to the hospital with gunshot-related injuries.

None of the injuries have been identified as severe or life-threatening, as per Chief Smith. Meanwhile, the authorities have swung into action and started looking into the incident thoroughly. They’ve released representative images of the suspective car, described as a four-door sedan in either grey or light blue. The car also has paper license tags with a noticeable feature of heavily tinted windows.

A similar shooting incident in D.C. last month claimed two lives and injured five. Additionally, three law enforcement officials were ambushed during an arrest attempt in February. The officials, who were serving an arrest warrant, were shot by the suspect before he barricaded himself in a local residence.
