Sony Signs Exclusive Deal for PlayStation 5 Console Release of Forever Skies in 2024: Find Out What PC Players Need to Know!

London, UK – Sony has recently announced a new partnership with developer Far From Home, to bring the post-apocalyptic survival game, Forever Skies, exclusively to the PlayStation 5 console in 2024.

Originally launched on Steam in Early Access, Forever Skies will make its console debut on the PS5 with a same-day release on Steam. As part of the partnership, Sony Interactive Entertainment will provide development support and funding for the game.

In a statement, Far From Home reassured PC players that the deal will not affect their version of the game. They emphasized that the full version of Forever Skies will still launch on Steam once Early Access is completed.

The game’s gameplay lead, Andrzej Blumenfeld, expressed excitement about teaming up with PlayStation to enhance the game for its console debut. He reassured players that the ongoing development and release of the Steam version will not be affected by the console exclusivity.

The final version of Forever Skies will support both single-player and up to four-player co-op, according to Far From Home. This announcement follows Sony’s recent decision not to release any major existing PlayStation franchise games before April 2025, creating an opportunity for new intellectual property releases and minor games from Sony’s big franchises.

With the trend of exclusive titles for the PS5, such as Helldivers 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it is evident that Sony is actively seeking “second-party” games to fill the gap in its release schedule.

This new partnership between Sony and Far From Home further expands the lineup of exclusive titles for the PlayStation 5, offering an exciting prospect for console gamers eagerly awaiting the release of Forever Skies in 2024.
