“Spotify” Inks New $250 Million Deal for Joe Rogan’s Controversial Podcast on Multiple Platforms!

Los Angeles, CA – Spotify has announced a new multiyear partnership deal with Joe Rogan, host of the controversial podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” worth up to $250 million. This deal allows Rogan’s show to be available on various audio platforms, in addition to Spotify.

Under the new pact, “The Joe Rogan Experience” will soon be accessible on other services like Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and YouTube. This comes as part of Spotify’s updated strategy to move away from exclusive streaming rights in favor of broader distribution, a shift that began in 2023. The Wall Street Journal initially reported the renewal of Spotify’s contract with Rogan.

As part of the partnership, Spotify will collaborate closely with Rogan and his team to expand the audience of the show across platforms. The company will also handle distribution and ad sales for the podcast, while Rogan will receive a guaranteed minimum fee from Spotify along with a share of advertising revenue.

“The Joe Rogan Experience” became exclusive to Spotify under a 2020 deal said to be worth more than $200 million over 3.5 years. The show has consistently ranked as the most popular podcast on the platform for the past three years, as per Edison Research.

Despite its popularity, both Rogan and Spotify have faced backlash over some of the content on the show, prompting a boycott by several music artists in early 2022. Despite this, the podcast, which originally launched in 2009, has featured a wide range of guests, including experts in fields such as environmental epidemiology, longevity medicine, and criminal justice reform.

Rogan has stated that he never invites guests onto his show solely based on their popularity, but rather from a genuine interest in having a conversation with them. This approach has led to the inclusion of a diverse array of guests, from renowned actors and musicians to experts and advocates in various fields.
