**Stolen Fire Truck Standoff Ends in Arrest** – Suspect Taken into Custody After Police Deploy Pepper Balls

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A suspect who allegedly stole a Sacramento Fire Department pickup truck was apprehended by police after a standoff in north Sacramento, where officers used pepper balls to resolve the situation. The Ford F-150 truck was reported stolen from Sacramento Fire Department Station 12 in the South Land Park area around 8:39 p.m. Officials noted that the vehicle is commonly used by Sac Fire’s emergency medical services captain.

With the assistance of a police helicopter, officers were able to locate the stolen truck near R Street and 30th Street. Despite the driver refusing to stop, police initiated a pursuit and eventually employed spike strips and a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a halt. By 9:43 p.m., the truck became disabled near Fairfield Street and Calvados Avenue in north Sacramento; however, the suspect inside failed to comply with police commands.

Around 10:20 p.m., law enforcement successfully took the individual into custody. Later that evening, the police revealed that they had fired less-than-lethal pepper balls into the pickup truck, prompting the suspect to exit the vehicle and surrender without further incident. The situation was swiftly resolved, and authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
