Kharkiv, Ukraine – At least two individuals lost their lives and 33 others sustained injuries following a Russian strike hitting a large hardware store in Kharkiv, Ukraine over the weekend, as per officials. Furthermore, 11 employees from the shopping center remain unaccounted for, stated authorities. With nearly 200 people present inside the building during the attack, the situation quickly turned dire, causing panic and chaos.
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, shared in a televised interview that despite an air raid siren sounding, only around 100 people managed to evacuate the premises. Unfortunately, many individuals were trapped inside, leading to fatalities and severe injuries. The two deceased individuals were identified as employees of the hypermarket, with the local prosecutor’s office confirming the tragic news.
