Superman Legacy Continues with Will Reeve’s Special Cameo in Upcoming DC Studios Movie

Cleveland, Ohio – The iconic character Superman is set to make a special cameo in the upcoming DC Studios movie, directed by James Gunn. This project not only celebrates the legacy of the Man of Steel but also pays tribute to the actor who popularized the role on the big screen.

The late Christopher Reeve, known for his portrayal of Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent in the first four Superman movies, will be honored through a cameo appearance by his youngest son, Will Reeve. Will, a journalist and ABC News correspondent, will play a TV reporter in the film, currently being filmed in Cleveland, Ohio.

The behind-the-scenes action of the movie, starring actor David Corenswet as Superman, was captured by local reporters as Will Reeve made his appearance on set during a major scene. This revival of the iconic character is written and directed by James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios under Warner Bros. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.

Will Reeve, along with his older siblings Matthew and Alexandra, has been reflecting on their father’s legacy through the recent documentary “Super/Man.” The documentary explores Christopher Reeve’s life, career, and the tragic horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, “Super/Man” secured a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery for approximately $15 million.

In a heartfelt interview at the festival, Will Reeve expressed his gratitude for the documentary, which shed light on his father’s life before the accident. The Reeve children also shared their thoughts on Christopher Reeve’s CGI cameo in the Warner Bros. film “The Flash,” revealing that they had not watched the movie nor were involved in the cameo. However, Will Reeve’s cameo in the upcoming “Superman” marks a significant moment in the collaborative relationship between the Reeve family and the studio.

The documentary “Super/Man” is set to premiere in select theaters on September 21, coinciding with Christopher Reeve’s birthday. DC Studios has partnered with Fathom Events for the theatrical release. Despite multiple attempts, DC Studios did not provide a comment on Will Reeve’s cameo.

The upcoming DC Studios movie not only pays tribute to the beloved character of Superman but also honors the legacy of Christopher Reeve through a special cameo by his son, Will Reeve. This intersection of past and present serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring impact of Superman on popular culture.
