Suspended Texas Football Player Involved in High-Speed Crash with Kansas City Chiefs Player – Arrest Warrant Issued

Dallas, Texas – A Texas college football player has been suspended from his team at Southern Methodist University after allegedly being involved in a high-speed crash with Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. Theodore “Teddy” Knox, a junior cornerback for the Mustang football team, was driving a Corvette while Rice was driving a Lamborghini in the multivehicle collision that occurred in Dallas last month.

Dallas police issued an arrest warrant for Knox, who just completed his second season after transferring from Mississippi State. The investigators revealed that both Knox and Rice were speeding in the far-left lane of North Central Expressway on March 30, causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles. Despite no major injuries reported, two individuals were taken to a local hospital, and two others were treated at the scene.

Arrest warrants were issued for both Rice and Knox, charging them with aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury. While Rice turned himself in to the Glenn Heights Police Department and was taken to the DeSoto Regional Jail, Knox’s whereabouts were unknown as Dallas police had not been notified of him surrendering. Rice, represented by attorney Texas state Sen. Royce West, was released on bond and is cooperating with the investigation.

Attorney Marc C. Lenahan, who is representing one of the victims involved in the crash, highlighted the chaotic nature of the incident where victims were abruptly hit by the speeding vehicles. Rice, acknowledging his role in the crash, expressed deep remorse for the impact on those involved in the accident and apologized publicly on social media. The school’s athletic department emphasized the seriousness of the allegations and stated that federal student privacy laws prevent them from discussing details regarding student disciplinary proceedings.

As the legal processes continue to unfold, the repercussions of the crash on those affected by the incident remain significant. Both Rice and Knox face legal consequences for their involvement in the high-speed collision that endangered multiple lives. The investigation into the circumstances leading to the crash is ongoing, shedding light on the importance of accountability and responsible driving behavior to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
