Taylor Swift Makes History with 4th Album of the Year Win at Grammys

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Taylor Swift made history at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, winning the album of the year for her 2022 album “Midnights.” This marked her fourth win in this prestigious category, setting a new record for the most wins by an artist.

Prior to this accomplishment, Swift was tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon, all of whom had won album of the year three times. Swift had previously taken home the golden gramophones for “Fearless” in 2009, “1989” in 2015, and “Folklore” in 2021.

Surprised and overjoyed, Swift accepted the award from surprise presenter Celine Dion and expressed her gratitude. She humbly mentioned, “For me, the award is the work. All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy.”

Swift also made sure to thank her producer, Jack Antonoff, whom she considers one of her “best friends” and a “once in a generation producer.” The singer-songwriter also expressed her appreciation for singer Lana Del Rey, calling her a “legacy artist, a legend in her prime right now.”

The win came after Swift had already announced that she’s releasing her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” in April. This news capped off an eventful night for Swift, who had previously won best pop vocal album for “Midnights” as well.

“Midnights” debuted to massive success in October 2022 when Swift claimed all top ten slots on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time with tracks from the album. This achievement further solidified her status as one of the music industry’s leading artists.
