Teen killed in double shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A teenager lost his life and another was injured in a double shooting that occurred in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood. The incident, which took place around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, involved two suspects who reportedly targeted a group of youths at the intersection of Wister Street and Germantown Avenue.

The victims, aged 16 and 17, were both shot in the back. The younger teen succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the 17-year-old is currently in stable condition. The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed.

In a surprising turn of events, a stray bullet narrowly missed a 55-year-old man driving near the scene. The bullet grazed his clothing, going through his driver door window and his sleeve. According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, the man was extremely fortunate to have escaped unscathed.

The suspects, described as wearing dark clothing, were seen fleeing the scene. Investigators have obtained surveillance footage of the incident, showing one group of young individuals firing at another. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
