Teen migrant stabbed in Times Square brawl

NEW YORK, NY – A 17-year-old migrant, assumed to hail from Nicaragua, was viciously stabbed during a large brawl in Times Square last Thursday evening. According to police, the teen was pursued by a sizable group before they caught up and attacked him, leaving him with a knife wound in his lower back. The violent incident took place around 5:30 p.m. in front of 251 W. 42nd Street.

Following the attack, the young victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital by EMS. He is reported to be in stable condition. Witness Bell Mohamed recounted the terrifying sight of the young man running with blood pouring from his back. Mohamed, a worker in Times Square, shared his concerns about the escalating violence in the area, attributing it to unhinged individuals.

Police recovered a blood-soaked knife from the crime scene. The area where the violent brawl took place was also the scene of an attack on law enforcement officials by a group of migrants last month.

Following Thursday’s incident, police sources reported that a 22-year-old man, along with six others- three of them migrant teenagers- were taken into custody. Over a dozen more individuals are being searched for in connection to the incident.

About two hours later, another violent altercation broke out a block away in front of the Hard Rock Cafe. An argument between two groups escalated into a physical assault, resulting in a 28-year-old man being beaten by three aggressors. The suspects were all apprehended at the scene, according to the NYPD.

The 28-year-old victim, who suffered minor injuries from being punched and kicked, was transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
