High school student shot on the side of the road

MEMPHIS, TN – A 16-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound on the roadside in Munford, Tennessee, on Friday morning, according to the authorities. The reports sparked a police investigation. The fatal incident took place on Wordon Way and Munford Avenue.

Munford Police officers, who responded to the scene at 8:30 a.m., discovered the adolescent with a gunshot wound to his thigh. He was immediately rushed to Regional One Hospital so that he could receive medical treatment.

Police indicate the teenager did not cooperate with investigators, providing no information about his identity or the circumstances of the shooting.

Investigators were soon tipped off that some Munford High students might have knowledge of the incident. They brought several students to the police department for interview sessions.

From their inquiries, detectives gathered that a group of teenagers were in a vehicle on Wordon Way. Within the vehicle was a firearm, which reportedly discharged, resulting in the teen being shot in the groin. “We will continue to work this case until all questions are answered,” assured Munford Police Chief Randal Baskin.
