The decision came after allegations surfaced that Dr Disrespect, also known as Herschel “Guy” Beahm, was banned from Twitch in 2020 for allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior with a minor. The studio addressed the issue on their platform and stated that they had initiated investigations in response to the claims.
Following an hour after Beahm’s first stream since the allegations came to light, the studio made the announcement, asserting their commitment to upholding their principles and standards by promptly severing ties with Guy Beahm. Beahm himself mentioned feeling fatigued during the stream, hinting at the possibility of distancing himself from the gaming scene, including his affiliation with Midnight Society.
Back in 2020, Beahm faced a sudden Twitch ban despite signing an exclusivity agreement with the platform. The reasons behind the ban remained undisclosed, leading to widespread speculation until recently when former Twitch employees shed light on the alleged cause. The revelation that Beahm was banned over inappropriate interactions involving a minor in Twitch whispers was further corroborated by additional statements from ex-Twitch employees.
In response to these serious accusations, Beahm took to social media to deny any wrongdoing, asserting that investigations had cleared him of any illegal activities.
