Three found dead at home in murder-suicide

STATESVILLE, NC – In a shocking incident, a 10-month-old baby has been left orphaned after an apparent murder-suicide claimed the lives of three individuals. Statesville authorities were alerted about a shooting early Friday morning on Bunker Hill Lane, where they discovered three deceased individuals.

Police have assured the public that there are no suspects currently sought, indicating that the shooter was among the deceased. The grisly scene spanned multiple residences and witnessed a woman being fatally shot outside her neighbor’s home.

Larry McCorkle, a former law enforcement officer and the neighbor to whom the woman rushed, described the chilling circumstance to the press. He recounted hearing pleas and gunshots as the woman’s attacker followed her to his doorstep. The attacker then reportedly returned to his home to take his own life and that of his wife.

The couple’s 10-month-old infant was present during the grim events but was found unharmed. The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.

Despite the ongoing investigation, Statesville police could not immediately provide further details but extended condolences to the affected families.

Community members struggled to reconcile the violent incident with the seemingly friendly persona of the presumed shooter. As investigators probe the motive behind the calamitous incident, a community grapples with the senseless loss of life and concern for the orphaned infant’s future.
