Three people found dead in apartment shooting

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FL – Tragedy struck an apartment complex in Southwest Miami-Dade on Bird Road late on Saturday night, claiming the lives of two women and a man in what seems to be a murder-suicide scenario.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Miami-Dade police officers responded to an emergency call at the Windsor Ludlam Trail apartment complex, situated near the 7000 block of Southwest 40th Street, commonly known as Bird Road. On reaching the scene, they discovered an injured woman outside an apartment, suffering from what looked like a gunshot wound, as reported in a Sunday morning press statement by the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD).

While tending to the injured woman, officers heard another gunshot emanating from the interior of the apartment. This alarming development led to a quick evacuation of the entire complex.

The MDPD’s Special Response Team was dispatched to the scene and entered the apartment. Inside, they found another injured woman and a man, each with gunshot wounds. The man’s wound appeared to be self-inflicted, according to MDPD reports.

All three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene by police officials.

Preliminary detective work suggests that the three victims were living together in the apartment where this shocking incident transpired. The police have not released the identities of the victims yet, citing an ongoing investigation.
