Three surfers are missing in Baja Mexico

ENSENADA, MX – The quest to locate three men who vanished during a surfing trip in Baja California, Mexico has escalated. The trio, identified as brothers Callum and Jake Robinson from Australia, and their friend Jack Carter Rhoad from the San Diego area, have been missing for five days.

The men had journeyed to Mexico to celebrate a birthday and surf near Ensenada. Their last known contact was on April 27. Concerns arose when they failed to check into their Airbnb in Rosarito and when Callum, who resides in Ocean Beach, did not return to his job in San Diego.

The men had traveled in a white Chevy Colorado pick-up truck. Despite a delay in the filing of the missing persons report, the investigation was initiated as soon as posts about their disappearance appeared on social media, according to Baja California State Attorney General, Maria Elena Andrade.

Andrade revealed that camping gear and other evidence were discovered in the Santo Tomas area, the last known location of the men. She also stated that three individuals are currently detained and under investigation, although no further details were provided.

In addition, a white pick-up truck, believed to be the one used by the trio, was found. The FBI has confirmed their collaboration with Mexican authorities on the ongoing investigation.
