New York, New York – The 23rd edition of the Tribeca Festival has unveiled its lineup of feature films for the upcoming event, showcasing a diverse array of movies including world premieres featuring well-known actors such as Kristen Stewart, Lily Gladstone, and Jenna Ortega. Among the highly anticipated titles is a documentary titled “Saving Casa Bonita,” which follows “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone as they embark on a journey to restore an iconic Colorado restaurant.

Kristen Stewart takes the lead in “Sacramento,” a road trip comedy directed by Michael Angarano, alongside Michael Cera and Maya Erskine. Lily Gladstone stars in “Jazzy,” a companion piece to the indie drama “The Unknown Country,” and Jenna Ortega features in director Tiffany Paulsen’s romantic drama “Winter Spring Summer or Fall,” alongside Marisol Nichols, Percy Hynes White, and Adam Rodriguez.

The festival’s documentary lineup boasts a range of themes, including comedy, political commentary, and exploration of artificial intelligence. With titles like “Group Therapy,” “America’s Burning,” and “Hacking Hate,” the festival aims to showcase diverse perspectives and timely subjects. Tribeca co-founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal expressed excitement about engaging with audiences on challenging yet relevant topics.

“Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge” is set to open the festival, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the iconic designer’s wrap dress. The festival, traditionally held in April and early May, has now shifted to a June schedule, running from June 5 to June 16. This year’s lineup features a record-breaking number of submissions, with 108 feature films selected from filmmakers across the globe, including a significant representation of women and BIPOC directors.

One notable change for this year’s festival is the absence of an online component, marking a shift back to in-person experiences. Tribeca Festival Director Cara Cusumano explained that the decision was influenced by a combination of factors and a desire to emphasize the New York experience for attendees.

Music documentaries, a staple of the festival, are also set to take center stage this year, with films like “They All Came Out To Montreux” featuring music legends such as Prince, Sting, and Aretha Franklin. The lineup also includes “Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story,” offering an intimate look at the iconic Liza Minnelli.

With a lineup that spans various genres and themes, the 23rd edition of the Tribeca Festival promises to deliver a dynamic and engaging cinematic experience for audiences in New York City and beyond.
