Triple homicide at apartment complex

PALM BAY, FL – A multiple shooting incident at a Palm Bay apartment complex late Saturday has led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man, Ta’Shawn Taylor, who is now facing serious charges. The man is charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Additionally, he faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

His first court appearance following the arrest was marked by evident confusion as he struggled to understand the court-appointed attorney’s role. However, after several explanatory attempts by Judge Judith Atkin, Taylor eventually accepted the designated attorney.

While no bond was granted for Taylor’s release, the Palm Bay police department gave the shocking details of the events that led to the suspect’s arrest. Following a 911 call shortly before 9:30 p.m. to the Woodlake apartment complex, officers discovered three people fatally shot on arrival. The victims were identified as Stephen Suglam (79), Angela Suglam (60), and Lisa Suglam (31).

In addition, two individuals were identified with gunshot wounds, one of which was a minor aged 15. Witnesses present at the scene directed the officers towards Taylor. Some victims were revealed to be related to the accused. The suspect’s listed residence is the same building in which the fatal shootings took place. The Palm Bay police have concluded that the event took place because of a domestic dispute.

One witness recounted hiding under a fatally wounded victim, posing as deceased to survive. After a short police pursuit, Taylor was apprehended, and a gun was recovered from the passenger seat of his car.

Taylor’s next court date is slated for February 22.
