Tropical Cyclone Alert | Atlantic Disturbances Increasing – Could Lead to Dangerous Storms Heading Towards Caribbean!

Miami, Florida – The possibility of tropical cyclone development in the Atlantic basin is on the rise, with two areas of disturbed weather being closely monitored by the FOX Forecast Center. Despite this development, neither of these disturbances currently pose an immediate threat to the United States.

A new tropical disturbance has emerged in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, following closely behind Invest 95L, which is on the verge of forming into a tropical depression or potentially Tropical Storm Beryl. This new disturbance, located just south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, is currently exhibiting disorganized showers and thunderstorms. While slow development is anticipated early next week as it tracks westward across the central and western tropical Atlantic, the system currently holds a 20% chance of strengthening within the upcoming week according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

Furthermore, attention is focused on a sister storm to the west, known as Invest 95L. Forecast models suggest likely tropical development as this disturbance approaches the Caribbean islands by late Sunday or Monday. The NHC’s naming convention for investigating areas with potential tropical development within a week classifies this disturbance as an “invest.”

Forecasts indicate uncertainty regarding the future path and strength of the system after its potential impact on the Caribbean islands. As of now, the NHC places the development chances for Invest 95L at a high level, hinting at the formation of at least a tropical depression.

Meteorologist Bryan Norcross emphasizes the importance of staying informed, especially for residents of the Caribbean islands, until further clarity is achieved regarding the storm’s trajectory and intensity. The increasing occurrence of June tropical storms in the Atlantic east of the Caribbean over the past few years has raised concerns over the region’s vulnerability to tropical disturbances.

Additionally, another disturbance labeled Invest 94L is progressing through the Caribbean towards Central America and southern Mexico, forecasting the likelihood of heavy rainfall. The NHC has assigned a low chance of development to this system, which would likely occur in the far western Caribbean or extreme southern Gulf of Mexico, if it manages to survive its journey across land.

Amidst these developments, high pressure systems across the southern US are expected to deflect the disturbance towards Central America and eventually into the southern Gulf over the weekend. The dynamic nature of these disturbances underscores the importance of vigilance and preparedness in regions susceptible to tropical cyclones.
