LAS VEGAS – Usher and his girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, have officially tied the knot in Las Vegas, marking the Grammy-winning R&B star’s third marriage and Goicoechea’s first. Records from the Clark County Clerk’s Office reviewed by USA TODAY on Monday confirmed the couple said “I do” on Super Bowl Sunday, although the exact time of the wedding is unknown. The news follows Usher headlining the Super Bowl halftime show and obtaining a marriage license with Goicoechea in Las Vegas just three days before the big game.
This news comes as Usher dropped his ninth studio album, “Coming Home,” on Feb. 9 ahead of the Super Bowl and is set to embark on his Past Present Future Tour starting in August. He also performed at the Super Bowl LVIII, bringing out guests such as Alicia Keys and Ludacris, creating a big week for the artist.
Usher and Goicoechea’s relationship dates back to 2019, and the couple has two children together. In a November interview with People magazine, Usher described Goicoechea as his “best friend.” Additionally, he stated that the couple had already “made a commitment to life for life together because of our children,” indicating that a marriage was not a surprising development.
The “Confessions” singer’s previous marriages include one to stylist Tameka Foster from 2007 to 2009 and one to entertainment executive Grace Harry, with whom he separated from in 2018. Through these marriages, Usher is the father of four children, two with Goicoechea and two from his marriage to Foster.
