Wife of Investor Starts GoFundMe to Help Trump Pay $355 Million in Legal Expenses After NY Fraud Case Verdict

NEW YORK, NY – The wife of an investor has started a fundraising campaign to assist former President Trump in covering his legal expenses following a recent verdict in a civil fraud case in New York.

The GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $355 million, the same amount that Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay in penalties. As of Saturday night, the campaign had already raised over $185,000 with contributions from more than 4,000 donors.

According to the New York attorney general’s office, with interest, Trump and his business could end up paying more than $450 million, adding to the financial burden.

Elena Cardone, the wife of investor Grant Cardone, initiated the online fundraiser with a goal to support Trump in what she perceives as unjust treatment by certain judicial elements in New York. She stressed that the legal battles Trump faces are not just directed at him, but at the principles of fairness and due process that every American deserves.

This financial penalty comes on the heels of a previous order for Trump to pay $83.3 million for defamation in a separate case. Trump’s attorneys have criticized the recent verdict as a “politically fueled witch hunt” and have stated that the former president will appeal the ruling.

It is worth noting that the launch of the GoFundMe campaign and the growing financial burden on Trump are taking place amidst his continued influence and involvement in the political landscape. The mounting legal expenses are drawing attention and raising questions about the impact on Trump’s future endeavors.
