**Winter Weather Advisory** for Washington DC | **Winter Storm Watch** for Surrounding Counties | Expect Heavy Snow Tonight to Tomorrow!

Washington, D.C. – The DC area is under a winter weather advisory, with a winter storm watch issued for several counties in the region. The advisory and watch are in effect from 10 p.m. tonight to 8 a.m. tomorrow.

The workweek is expected to end with mainly sunny skies, giving way to clouds and minimal wind as a bout of accumulating snow moves in overnight. The forecast rates today’s weather at an 8 out of 10, with temperatures reaching a high of 43-49 degrees and snow expected to develop overnight.

A fast-moving disturbance is set to sweep across the area, bringing several inches of snow by Saturday morning. Some areas may see up to 4 inches of snow, particularly north of downtown Washington. However, the snow is expected to melt away as temperatures rise over the holiday weekend.

The weather for tonight includes the development of snow, with heavy snowfall expected overnight. Roads are likely to become snow-covered and slick, with low temperatures dipping into the upper 20s and lower 30s.

The snow may linger into Saturday morning, accompanied by gusty winds. Afternoon temperatures should range from the upper 30s to lower 40s, but wind chills may make it feel colder.

By Sunday, most of the snow should be gone as mainly sunny skies prevail. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to upper-40s, with calming breezes from the southwest.

Skies should remain mainly clear on Sunday night, with low temperatures dipping into the mid-20s to around 30 degrees and possibly colder in some areas that still have snow on the ground.

Moving into the new week, Presidents’ Day and Tuesday are expected to be more sunny than not, with temperatures continuing to rise near 50 to mid-50s. Overall, the potential for at least 1 inch of snow in the next week is rated at 8 out of 10.
