Winter Weather Warning: Coastal Flooding and Snow Showers Expected in Southern New Hampshire!

Manchester, New Hampshire – Winter weather is set to make a comeback in New Hampshire this week after a period of mild conditions. Snow showers are expected for southern parts of the state on Tuesday, with the potential for coastal flooding in the afternoon.

A coastal flood advisory has been issued for the New Hampshire coastline, with the high tide expected to peak at 1:46pm on Tuesday. Light snow showers are anticipated during the morning commute in southern New Hampshire, with minimal accumulation expected. However, further south in Massachusetts, more snow is forecasted.

The projected track of the system has shifted farther south than initially anticipated, resulting in the main storm impacts being concentrated in southern New England. As a result, the Lakes Region, White Mountains, and the Great North Woods are not expected to experience any snowfall accumulation, with minimal impacts in the northern half of the state.

Tides along the coast have been exceptionally high, prompting a coastal flood watch for Tuesday. Minor coastal flooding is possible during the high tide on Tuesday afternoon, around 2 p.m. Additionally, there is a possibility of light snow late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning, followed by windy and cold conditions on Wednesday.

The return of winter weather is being closely monitored by the Storm Watch 9 team, and residents are advised to stay weather-aware by downloading the WMUR app for Apple or Android devices and enabling push notifications for weather alerts. Additionally, storm coverage is available through the free Very Local app on smart TVs.
