Wisconsin Toddler Vanishes: Shocking Details Revealed About Mother’s Charges

Two Rivers, Wisconsin: Prosecutors revealed disturbing new details in the case of missing Wisconsin toddler, Elijah Vue, shedding light on the events leading up to his disappearance. Elijah’s mother, Katrina Baur, now faces additional charges as authorities uncover evidence surrounding the days before the 3-year-old vanished on February 20.

The search for Elijah began after he went missing from a residence in Two Rivers, where Baur had reportedly sent him to stay with her boyfriend to “become a man.” Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement and the community, Elijah remains missing, prompting a $25,000 reward for information in the case.

During court proceedings, prosecutors disclosed evidence indicating that Baur had left Elijah unattended for an extended period on February 16, while she and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, traveled to various locations in Manitowoc. Additionally, they revealed another incident on February 14, where a 6-year-old child was left unattended in a vehicle in freezing temperatures without the engine running.

In response to the allegations, Baur’s attorney emphasized the emotional distress his client is experiencing, expressing her deep concern for her missing son. Baur, a 31-year-old resident of Wisconsin Dells, faces felony charges of party-to-a-crime child neglect, as well as misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer. She is currently held on a $15,000 cash bond.

Prosecutors adjusted the felony charge against Baur to party-to-a-crime chronic child neglect and added a misdemeanor charge of neglecting a child. Despite Baur’s request for a bond reduction being denied, the judge rescheduled her preliminary hearing, along with Vang’s, to March 14.

Vang, a 39-year-old from Two Rivers, was also charged with party-to-a-crime child neglect and is detained on a $20,000 cash bond. According to a criminal complaint, Baur had entrusted Vang to care for Elijah to teach him “to be a man,” with plans to retrieve him on February 23. Vang reported Elijah missing on February 20, stating the child had disappeared while he napped alongside him in the bedroom.

As the investigation into Elijah’s disappearance continues, the community remains on edge, hoping for a breakthrough in the case. These recent developments underscore the urgency of finding the missing toddler and holding those responsible for his well-being accountable.
