Woman abducted and drugged shoots alleged captor

MONTGOMERY, TX – A man from Texas was discovered deceased on Friday following a distress call to 911 by a woman who claimed she had shot her abductor.

The woman, a 45-year-old resident of Montgomery, contacted 911 around 12:40 p.m., stating that she had fired at an individual after being abducted and drugged, according to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office.

Initially, the woman’s location was uncertain, but deputies eventually located her near a winery on East U.S. Highway 290.

Upon discovery, the woman provided the deputies with a description of the vehicle and the firearm involved in the incident.

In response to the woman’s information, a deputy discovered the vehicle in the outside lane of westbound traffic. Inside, a man who appeared to be deceased was found in the front seat, later confirmed dead by officials.

The deceased man was identified as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, a resident of the Houston area, as per the sheriff’s office. No additional information about Reid or the circumstances of his death was immediately available.

The woman was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where she was questioned by an investigator. There were no immediate updates on her condition.

The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that no further details would be disclosed at this time.
