Woman and 5 kids killed in house fire

NOORVIK, AK – The Alaskan State Troopers reported a tragic fire incident in a small Alaskan village. The deadly fire claimed the lives of six people, including a woman and five children. The incident occurred in Noorvik, an Inupiat community with a population of approximately 650. Noorvik is located over 500 miles northwest of Anchorage.

The ages of the profound young victims are believed to range between 9 and 16 years old. The in-depth identification details of the victims await confirmation from the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage, said troopers spokesperson Tim DeSpain.

Residents of the village began to notice the fire around 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Despite attempts to put out the fatal blaze, the fire had already engulfed the house completely. According to DeSpain, the size of the fire made rescue attempts impossible.

Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest the fire might have originated near a stove that was reportedly in bad condition. However, despite these findings, the exact cause of the fire is still unknown and awaiting confirmation.

The identities of the victims who passed away in this incident are yet to be publicly released. Authorities are still in the process of notifying relatives who lost their family members in the fire.
