Woman gets run over by a car while taking selfie

LOS ANGELES, CA – An out-of-control vehicle involved in a street takeover incident ended tragically, injuring a woman in Los Angeles’ Florence district. A $25,000 reward was announced on Friday to help gather more information.

Traffic Division officials from the Los Angeles Police Department released a video showing an unidentified woman being struck by an INFINITI G37. The incident took place near San Pedro Street and Manchester Avenue last Sunday, with the woman involved taking a selfie amidst a crowd of onlookers when she was hit.

As detailed by the investigators, the woman’s head forcefully struck the ground, apparently knocking her unconscious. Members of the crowd removed her from the scene.

Detective Ryan Moreno of the LAPD revealed during a press briefing that some information they’ve gathered insinuates that the woman could be deceased. “We don’t know who she is, where she is, or how serious her injuries are,” Moreno explained.

The police are also investigating the criminal activities that caused the collision, while trying to determine the woman’s identity. “The car did leave and flee…it was not reported,” Moreno said, mentioning the hit-and-run element to the event.

The police are seeking the fleeing driver and hope the announced reward will help elicit more information from the public.
