Woman stabbed in the throat at Metro station

STUDIO CITY, CA – Early on Monday morning, a Metro station in Studio City was the scene of a fatal stabbing. The female victim succumbed to her injuries in the hospital, authorities confirmed. The violence occurred at the Universal City B Line Station, located at 3901 Lankershim Blvd. Los Angeles police received reports of the stabbing around 5 a.m. and hurried to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered a woman who had been stabbed in the throat. The platform played host to a haunting scene, featuring discarded clothing and a sizable pool of blood.

After transportation to a local health facility, the woman remained in unknown condition until the LAPD spokesperson verified her death. The primary suspect is a male who was in possession of two bags at the time of the attack. As of the current reporting, it is still uncertain whether he has been detained or is still on the run.

The incident forced the station to cease train service from its location to downtown Los Angeles. A temporary bus bridge service has been initiated to facilitate the transport of riders between the North Hollywood and Hollywood-Highland stations, according to L.A. Metro spokesperson Dave Sotero.

The fatal event occurred on the same day that L.A. Metro was offering complimentary rides in observance of Earth Day.
