LAS VEGAS, NV – In a startling incident at Aztec Inn casino in Las Vegas, a woman found herself the victim of a stabbing attack while playing a slot machine. The weapon used in the assault was surprisingly located in the casino’s lost and found section later, as stated by investigators.
Police arrested 38-year-old Elonda Alexander, shortly after the event occurred on July 8. According to police reports, Alexander admitted to the crime during her arrest. Alexander allegedly stabbed the woman, who was known to her, multiple times in the back as the victim was engaged with a slot machine. The victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries after the stabbing, and she was later released from the hospital.
Documents revealed that the victim claimed Alexander was upset with her after they had spent the entire day smoking meth. The pair, accompanied by another man, then went to the casino where Alexander allegedly attacked the victim with the obscene hope of her demise.
The assault was captured by the casino’s surveillance cameras, recording Alexander stabbing the victim, discarding the knife afterwards, and then leaving the premises. Later, a casino employee found the knife and placed it in the lost and found. The weapon was eventually retrieved by a crime scene detective.
Alexander is currently held in custody with a bail of $20,000, facing charges for battery using a deadly weapon and an additional weapon-related charge. A request for comments from Aztec Inn’s representative has remained unanswered so far.
