Woman and toddler killed in wrong-way crash

A tragic wrong-way crash in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, resulted in the deaths of a woman and a 5-year-old boy on Thursday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of Woodley Avenue, near Victory Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that a white Honda Accord, traveling in the wrong direction, collided with a gray Honda Civic in the southbound lanes. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, leaving a devastating aftermath.

The collision claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman who was driving the Honda Civic. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, the 5-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the same car, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The identities of the victims have not been released. Four other individuals, aged between 21 and 30, were also injured in the crash and are currently hospitalized in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities have yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic incident. The investigation into the cause of the wrong-way crash is ongoing.
