WrestleMania XL, WWE’s grandest annual event, took place over two nights at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Unexpectedly, fans witnessed some Philadelphia sports excitement during the event, as they saw Kelce and Lane Johnson, both of the Philadelphia Eagles, play a role in determining the outcome of a tag-team match.
Kelce and Johnson intervened in a match involving WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and Andrade against Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio, Rey’s son. The two football players prevented Dominik Mysterio from using a ringside chair against his opponents, ultimately guiding Rey and Andrade to victory.
After the match, Kelce and Johnson revealed themselves by taking off their masks, receiving cheers from the crowd. Kelce, known for his energetic personality, even climbed the turnbuckle to celebrate, a familiar sight for Eagles fans.
Kelce’s involvement in pro wrestling is not entirely new, as NFL fans may remember a video of him celebrating in a luchador mask after his brother, Travis, won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.
