Johnson died days after a medical emergency at her Los Angeles home led to hospitalization, according to her niece.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Kimmarie Johnson, an actress and model who appeared on “Beverly Hills, 90210” and in the comedy “Dude, Where’s My Car?,” died Wednesday, Nov. 4, after a recent medical emergency, her family said. She was 50.
Johnson experienced what her niece, Rhonda Scott, described as a “heart event” at Johnson’s Los Angeles home on Oct. 27. Scott said Johnson was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where doctors diagnosed what she described as a “heart aneurysm condition.” Johnson died Wednesday afternoon. An official cause of death has not been confirmed.
Scott confirmed Johnson’s death in statements to news outlets Thursday. She remembered her aunt as a person whose positive spirit affected those around her. “She radiated a light so strong and bright,” Scott told People. “People who came in contact with her felt nothing but positive energy.” Scott added that Johnson’s family would continue to honor her life.
Johnson built a career that included acting, modeling, producing and work in the beauty industry. She appeared in a 1998 episode of the long-running Fox teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210,” one of the television programs most closely associated with her screen career. She later appeared on “V.I.P.,” the action-comedy series starring Pamela Anderson, and “Wanda at Large.”
Her film credits included the 2000 comedy “Dude, Where’s My Car?,” starring Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott. Johnson also accumulated credits in projects including “Spanish Fly” and other independent films. Her later television work included the series “Tucker’s War,” according to published accounts of her career.
Johnson was born and raised in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, before eventually moving to Los Angeles as she pursued work in entertainment. Before and alongside acting, she worked as a model and participated in beauty pageants. Her career later expanded beyond entertainment into beauty and skin care.
In 2011, Johnson founded SkinGlow by Kimmarie, a skin-care and beauty business. She continued modeling and remained involved in fashion and beauty work in the years that followed. Johnson appeared on a digital cover of Grazia Slovenia in August and continued sharing modeling work publicly during 2026.
Johnson also remained connected to Hollywood events. Earlier this year, she attended a Los Angeles premiere of “Michael,” the biographical film about Michael Jackson. People reported that the appearance was among her final red-carpet events. Her professional life reflected several overlapping roles, including actress, model, producer and beauty entrepreneur.
Johnson welcomed a son, Cameron Nino, in 2003. Published reports identify Nino as a Los Angeles-based musician. Her family had not announced additional memorial arrangements as of Thursday. Although relatives have described the medical condition diagnosed after Johnson’s Oct. 27 emergency, an official cause of death had not been publicly confirmed.
