Seligman, former EVP and Global General Counsel of Sony and President of Sony Entertainment, also sits on the Board of Directors at Paramount Global, Meira GTx, and Intuitive Machines, Inc. Simo, the CEO and Chair of Instacart, adds her perspective from her role on the Board of Directors at Shopify.
According to a recent release, the new members will collaborate closely with current board members Adam D’Angelo, Larry Summers, and Bret Taylor, as well as OpenAI’s senior management team. Following an investigation by the law firm WilmerHale, a review found a breakdown in trust between the prior board and former CEO Sam Altman, leading to his ouster in November. Despite the challenges, the investigation determined that Altman and his co-founder Greg Brockman are still the right leaders for OpenAI.
