Brother and sister shot dead in front of courthouse

On Tuesday, a brother and sister were fatally shot by a suspect who was known to them. The siblings were killed outside a courthouse in Puerto Rico. The shooter was swiftly apprehended at the courthouse in Caguas, a city in the northern part of the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 34-year-old Roig George KaraKuzian, who is of Lebanese descent but resides in Puerto Rico.

The victims were a male and female employed as a security guard for a private company. The police on the scene confirmed this information, while the security company has yet to comment on the incident.

The live recording of the shooting captured at least seven shots being fired, causing panic among those present. The footage showed a reporter, who was preparing for a broadcast, fleeing the scene, and another individual taking cover on the ground. Dramatic video footage of the aftermath revealed law enforcement officers subduing the suspect and escorting him into the courthouse.

Puerto Rico Police Commissioner Antonio López arrived at the scene and addressed reporters, expressing the authorities’ determination to establish a motive for the tragic incident.

Meanwhile, Alexis Torres, the secretary of the island’s Department of Public Safety, revealed that the suspect had a personal connection to the victims. Both parties were involved in a legal dispute over a property, and they had restraining orders against each other. The suspect was due in court on Tuesday for allegedly violating the restraining order, as confirmed by Jessika Correa, the island’s chief prosecutor, in an interview with TeleOnce.
