The decision was revealed by CNN CEO Mark Thompson during the channel’s 9 a.m. editorial call last Friday, followed by Harlow sending an email to her colleagues shortly after.
In her note, Harlow expressed her gratitude towards CNN and its management team for supporting her decision. Most recently, Harlow co-hosted “CNN This Morning” alongside Phil Mattingly. The show underwent changes earlier this year, with production relocating to Atlanta. Mattingly transitioned to a new role as chief domestic correspondent and fill-in anchor following the show’s cancellation.
Harlow was part of the original “CNN This Morning” team, announced in 2022 as part of an effort to revamp the channel’s morning lineup. Her departure comes after the exits of Don Lemon and Kaitlan Collins from the morning show. Lemon was released from CNN a year prior, while Collins moved to hosting the 9 p.m. hour.
