Los Angeles, California – Comedian Chelsea Handler recently shared her experience with the medication Ozempic, revealing that she was prescribed the drug by her “anti-aging doctor” without fully understanding its purpose. During a podcast episode on Jan. 25, 2023, Handler mentioned that her doctor suggested Ozempic as a way to lose weight, unaware of its actual effects.
Despite giving the drug a try, Handler expressed dissatisfaction with how it made her feel. After injecting herself with it upon returning from a vacation, she noticed feelings of nausea which she initially attributed to jet lag. Handler went on to disclose that she had dispensed the unused doses of Ozempic to friends, seeing no reason to continue using a medication intended for weight loss when it was not suitable for her. She humorously shared, “I’ve injected about four or five of my friends with Ozempic, because I realized I didn’t want to use it because it was silly.”
