FONTANA, CA – A convicted felon on probation in California, identified as Louis Peter Hernandez, 41, is now facing multiple murder charges following a shooting spree that claimed the lives of his current and former girlfriends in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, authorities report.
On November 25, Hernandez reportedly entered a residence in Fontana, where he is alleged to have shot and killed his girlfriend and another individual. Authorities say Hernandez subsequently traveled to Riverside County, where he is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend.
In addition to these incidents, authorities are investigating a fourth gunshot victim allegedly involved in a confrontation with Hernandez, who is currently recuperating in the hospital.
Hernandez, known to authorities as a gang member with a violent criminal past, was on probation and under post-release community supervision at the time of the reported shootings.
Hernandez has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of assault with a firearm. Additional charges are pending related to the fourth gunshot victim.
Authorities have also filed special allegations for prior felonies and special circumstances, potentially setting the stage for a capital murder case.
