Couple killed in apparent murder-suicide

MARLBOROUGH, MA – A woman and a man died from gunshot wounds in a grim murder-suicide case in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The fatal incident took place last Wednesday. The 28-year-old female victim, whom friends identify as Kethlen Paula Alves Trindade DaRocha, was allegedly shot by her 29-year-old boyfriend, Marlon Moreira Costa. Both of them were residents of the city of Marlborough.

In a series of horrifying events, the couple had an argument on Tuesday night. During this conflict, Costa threatened DaRocha at his home. DaRocha returned home on Wednesday morning and was again threatened and then shot by Costa, who subsequently killed himself.

Marlborough Police arrived at the scene after acting on a shooting report on Rice Street early Wednesday morning. They encountered two women and a child outside who reported that their roommate, DaRocha, had been shot inside. Upon entering the house, police found the lifeless bodies of DaRocha and Costa, both of whom had been shot.

“They were arguing last night, then they were arguing this morning,” said Junior Dantas, a friend of the victim. DaRocha, originally from Brazil, had no known family in Massachusetts.

Police stated that their investigation into the devastating murder-suicide case is ongoing. No further information was immediately available about the motive of the crime or additional evidence found at the scene.
