Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3: Unleash Your Inner Racing Pro with New Vehicles and AutoDrive Feature!

Warsaw, Poland — CD Projekt Red has announced the upcoming release of the 2.3 update for its acclaimed game, Cyberpunk 2077, set to launch on July 17. This latest patch aims to enhance the gaming experience with a focus on vehicle dynamics and customization options.

Players will have the opportunity to unlock three new cars, along with the game’s first customizable motorcycle. According to Paweł Sasko, the associate game director, the quests necessary for unlocking these vehicles will be designed to be intuitively integrated into gameplay and will not contribute to the overall completion percentage of the game.

A highlight of the 2.3 update is the introduction of an AutoDrive feature. This function will allow vehicles to navigate automatically once a waypoint is established, reducing the need for manual control. In a nod to the game’s lore, the feature will be rolled out to all vehicles via a software update. Notably, AutoDrive can be interrupted if a vehicle comes under fire, and it will ensure compliance with traffic rules, including stopping at red lights.

To enhance players’ experience further, CD Projekt Red has also revised combat mechanics, aiming to create a more seamless interaction with the new driving features by decreasing the frequency of in-game conflicts. The update will also include a partnership with Delamain, the AI taxi service, allowing players to engage AutoDrive in both traditional and wandering modes.

In addition to the vehicular upgrades, the game will introduce a cinematic camera similar to those found in other popular open-world games, providing players with a new perspective to explore the vibrant Night City. The Photo Mode has also been revamped, allowing players to adjust time of day and weather conditions to capture the perfect scene. There will be 27 new non-playable characters (NPCs), alongside fresh poses and outfits for the main characters, adding depth to the visual storytelling.

To celebrate this overhaul, CD Projekt Red plans to host a Photo Mode contest, encouraging players to showcase their most creative captures. As part of the update, PC gamers will gain support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1 starting July 17, with plans for future support of FSR 4 in an upcoming driver update.

In addition, the update will fully integrate HDR10+ Gaming and is expected to introduce Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for console players soon. CD Projekt Red also reaffirmed its commitment to launching the Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 in tandem with the 2.3 update.

Players can anticipate the new features across various platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Nintendo Switch users can look forward to receiving the update shortly after its initial release.
