JONESBORO, AR – A volatile shooting incident sadly claimed the lives of three individuals during the early hours of Sunday morning. The gunfire also left several people injured at a private gathering that took place in downtown Jonesboro, Arkansas, according to local law enforcement reports.
Police stated that when they reached the scene of the event near downtown Jonesboro around 5 a.m., they found numerous individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. The casualties included a man and a woman.
Two of the deceased victims have been identified by the police as acquaintances of the gunman. The shooter himself also died.
Aside from these fatalities, another woman- who was also recognized as an acquaintance of the shooter- sustained injuries. Three other attendees were also injured in the rampage. However, none of the additional attendees had any kind of association with the shooter who caused the fatal violence.
In terms of the possible motives for the shooter’s actions or the status of those admitted to the hospital, the Jonesboro Police have not yet given any official statement. Investigations into the case are ongoing so that they can determine the cause of the incident.
Jonesboro is situated about 70 miles northeast of the state’s capital, Little Rock.
