Four-year-old girl dies after being hit by a car in mall parking lot

BUFORD, GA – In a tragic accident at a bustling shopping mall in Georgia, a young 4-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a pickup truck in the parking lot. Law enforcement officials from the Gwinnett County Police Department arrived on the scene outside Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Mall of Georgia following the accident, which took place shortly after 4 p.m.

Among the three injured individuals discovered by the officers was young Abigail ‘Abby’ Hernandez. The child was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The incident involved an 18-year-old driving a 2004 white pickup truck who was exiting the mall parking lot.

As the shock of the incident settles, Abby’s bereaved family is left to mourn her loss and come to terms with their devastating situation. A GoFundMe page has been set up to provide financial support for Abby’s mother, who, as the page describes, is living through ‘every parent’s worst nightmare.’

Abby’s aunt, Lauren Paz, conveyed the family’s heartbreak to WANF. “She fought her best to stay but ultimately God called her home,” Paz shared, further stating, “Unimaginable is the only word I have to describe this.”

It was revealed on the fundraising page that Abby’s father and sister were also victims of the accident but suffered non-life-threatening injuries. To date, the family has managed to raise over $15,000 via the fundraising platform.
