Four-year-old twins found dead at home, two adults also found dead

SAN MATEO, CA – A horrifying discovery was made in a San Mateo home on Monday morning when local police were conducting a welfare check. Officers found four people dead, according to reports.

Upon entering the home, officers discovered the bodies. Jerami Surratt, Public Information Officer for the San Mateo Police Department detailed the grim scene. Surratt said that the four deceased individuals discovered inside the home included an adult male, an adult female, and two young children.

Residents of the neighborhood, typically known to be peaceful and safe, expressed shock over the incident. One such resident, Donnita McDevitt was on her routine walk when she arrived at a police-lined street. She expressed her disbelief and sorrow as the area where she walked regularly had turned into a crime scene.

In the words of another local resident, Bob Mateus, the incident was extraordinarily tragic. He emphasized the abnormality of such occurrences in the area where he had grown up. Similarly, fellow resident Ronna McMurray voiced her assumption of the event being a major tragedy and speculated on possible precautionary steps that might have been taken to avert it.

As the investigation continued, law enforcement had cordoned off the street throughout the day. Though no definite information regarding the cause of death or any potential weapons involved was available immediately, investigators suggested it was an isolated incident with no signs of forced entry identified. They also confirmed they are not in pursuit of any suspects in the case.
