A Superior Court judge from Orange County, California, has been apprehended in relation to his wife’s fatal shooting in their Anaheim Hills residence, as confirmed by local authorities on Friday. Jeffrey Ferguson, 72, is currently under arrest on murder charges, according to a statement from the Anaheim Police Department.
The incident was reported just after 8 p.m. at a home located on East Canyon Vista Drive in the 8500 block, as per the police statement. The residence is situated in a community just south of the 91 Freeway. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson with at least one gunshot wound. She was declared dead at the scene.
Jeffrey Ferguson was found at the scene by the officers, who arrested him without any complications, investigators reported. He was then taken to the Police Department’s detention facility, where he is currently being held on a $1 million bail.
A mugshot of Ferguson, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, was made public by the authorities. The police department’s statement also mentioned that no further details are being disclosed at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.
