Kelce Joins ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown: RGIII Out for Good!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Former NFL player Jason Kelce has officially joined ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” show, stepping in as Robert Griffin III’s replacement. Kelce, who retired in March after a 13-season career, will not only be a regular on the pregame program but will also be featured in ESPN’s Super Bowl studio coverage, starting with the February 2027 event.

ESPN’s announcement stated that Kelce will be making additional appearances during the postseason, including the NFL’s Conference Championship weekend. The network plans to explore further opportunities for Kelce in the future. Kelce will be joining the existing cast of “Monday Night Countdown,” alongside Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, Adam Schefter, and Michelle Beisner-Buck.

Notably absent from the list is Robert Griffin III, who will not be returning to the show. Despite this change, Griffin will continue his work with ESPN, where he will focus on game commentary and studio analysis. Griffin spent two years on “Monday Night Countdown,” in 2022 and 2023, but his time on the program has officially come to an end.

Kelce’s addition to the “Monday Night Countdown” team brings a fresh perspective and wealth of experience to the show. Fans can expect insightful commentary and analysis from Kelce, who is known for his passion for the game and engaging personality. With Kelce on board, ESPN’s pregame coverage is sure to be even more compelling and informative for viewers.
