Meridian, Idaho – A nurse from Meridian, Idaho, is among nearly 100 patients filing a lawsuit against drugmakers Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk over alleged serious side effects of weight-loss drugs. Meredith Hotchkiss, 56, shared how her life was devastated after using Mounjaro, a diabetes and weight-loss drug, leading to severe medical conditions.
The legal action is part of a larger case highlighting the litany of grim conditions linked to weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, Mounjaro, and Trulicity. Hotchkiss revealed her struggle with gastroparesis – stomach paralysis – after medication use, causing her to rely on tubes for nutrition and fluid intake, as solid foods have become intolerable.
Despite companies like Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk defending against the claims, more patients are expected to join the lawsuit as it progresses. The lawsuit alleges that these weight-loss drugs have caused malnutrition, dehydration, neurological disorders, and even death.
