Man found shot to death inside shed

TAUNTON, MA – A homicide investigation has been launched following the discovery of a 32-year-old man’s deceased body on Highland Street, Taunton, Massachusetts, on Saturday morning. The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office is leading the probing, with the man identified as Jhonny Lajoie.

Local police were alerted about a dead body in a furnished shed at 155 Highland Street around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, the investigative team determined that the death had resulted from a gunshot wound.

The crime scene, a large yellow house, was cordoned off by the police while detectives and crime scene technicians worked diligently, investigating the incident for much of the day.

Witnesses residing in the locale were heavily shocked by the incident. Bob Pollard, a local resident, returned from his grandson’s game to find a heavy police presence in the neighborhood. He initially hoped for an accident, only to later reckon a more heartbreaking story. Pollard, unaware of his neighbors across the street, recalled the group of younger men often partying in the shed where the body was found.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the investigation findings do not suggest any danger to the public related to this incident. However, information about a possible suspect or motive remains undisclosed, considering the highly active status of the investigation.
