Man stabbed inside 24 Hour Fitness gym

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A man is in critical condition after a stabbing incident at a 24 Hour Fitness gym in Miami Gardens. Police responded to the gym, located at 19371 NW 27th Ave., around 6 p.m. on Thursday. According to police reports, the victim was stabbed by another man and had to be flown to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital for treatment. Off-duty police officers on the scene were able to assist the injured man.

A cellphone video shared with local media reveals members departing the gym and bloody items near the front entrance, coupled with visible blood stains on the gym floor. While unverified by police, a radio recording offered a brief description of the alleged assailant.

Police indicated that the attacker fled towards The Pomelo, a neighboring apartment complex. Both the apartment complex and the gym’s parking lot were temporarily locked down as authorities searched for the alleged assailant.

Residents and witnesses claimed that the attack occurred inside the gym near the basketball court, with the assailant subsequently vaulting the gym’s fence towards the apartment complex. The motive for the stabbing remains unclear.

Gym member Tyreek Davis expressed shock upon hearing the news of the incident. The gym resumed operations Friday morning following a closure for police investigations.

Miami Gardens Police are continuing to search for the assailant and have been reached out for further details on the incident.
