Mother of two killed in ATM robbery

WORTH, IL – A heartbreaking incident unfolded in the Chicago suburbs on Saturday when a single mother of two was fatally shot at a Chase Bank ATM. Worth, Illinois, police responded to the grim scene at the bank branch, where they found the woman’s life had been tragically cut short.

The woman was later identified as Jonnie Angel Kleins, a single mother to a 15-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl. Kleins was not only a mother but also the caretaker of her own mother. Police have since arrested two suspects linked to a string of armed robberies in the Chicago area.

Kleins’ family remembers her as a tireless worker, a beacon of kindness, and a humble and loving individual. A GoFundMe page set up by the family in her honor paints a picture of a “warrior that never gave up,” and a woman who “brought God’s light into many lives without even realizing it.”

Before the tragic incident, Kleins was out walking with her children, according to her family. Despite her premature departure, the family believes that Kleins’ love will continue to resonate through her children.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is currently assessing potential charges in connection to the case. Further details regarding the specifics of the incident have not been released by the authorities.
