Newlywed dies in freak accident while on honeymoon

STEUBENVILLE, OH – A joyous Caribbean honeymoon took a tragic turn for an Ohio couple when the husband met with a fatal waterskiing accident just days after their wedding. Nate and Mariana Kuhlman, who had recently tied the knot on October 28, embarked on their honeymoon in St. Lucia, where the heartbreaking incident occurred, as reported on a GoFundMe page.

Nate Kuhlman, an alumnus of Franciscan University in Steubenville, was described as a wonderful husband, friend, son, and brother in Christ by the fundraising page. The circumstances surrounding the accident were not detailed in the report.

The GoFundMe page set up to assist the family with funeral expenses and travel costs states, “Words cannot describe the heartbreak there is for his story and for his family. We kindly ask for help to assist for funeral cost and travel of the family.”

Another GoFundMe page mentioned that donations would contribute to covering various expenses, including travel to St. Lucia and back, passport issuance, transportation, accommodations, meals, funeral arrangements, Mariana’s needs, and unforeseen costs. The fundraiser also requested prayers for the families during this difficult time.
Both fundraising efforts combined had raised over $100,000 as of Tuesday morning.

Heather Kuhlman, Nate’s mother, shared on Facebook that she was traveling to St. Lucia after her son had passed away. She expressed the shock and pain of Nate’s sudden death but found solace in her faith, believing that he was now in a better place.

While grieving the loss of Nathaniel, Heather asked for prayers for the safe journey bringing her son home.
