Ohio dad charged with shooting and killing his 3 sons

An Ohio father has been arrested and charged with the killing of his three young sons.

The tragic event unfolded late Thursday afternoon in Clermont County. Local law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting and arrived to find a gruesome scene. Four people had been shot outside a residence, including three young boys ages 7, 4, and 3.

The first responders tried to save the boys’ lives but they tragically died at the scene.

The mother of the boys was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound to her hand, but her injuries were not life-threatening. She was immediately rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. It was there that Sheriff Robert Leahy of Clermont County delivered the heart-wrenching news of her sons’ passing.

When officers reached the scene, they encountered a man who was later identified as the boys’ father. Chad Doerman, 32, was seated on the steps outside the home. Doerman was arrested at the scene and taken to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

Later that night, he was charged with three counts of aggravated murder. After the detectives’ interview, Doerman was taken to jail and is being held without bond. He is due to appear in court for his arraignment on Friday at 10 a.m.

Emergency dispatch calls recorded the horrific moments of the shooting. The initial 911 call came from a woman crying out that her children had been shot. Another call from a passerby reported a young girl running down the street, screaming about her father hurting everyone..
