Ashtabula, Ohio – Two women in Ashtabula, Ohio, have found themselves in a bizarre and alarming situation reminiscent of a plot from a Hollywood movie. Karen Casbohm, 63, and Loreen Bea Feralo, 55, were arrested after allegedly using the body of their deceased housemate to access cash from a bank. The deceased, identified as Douglas Layman, 80, was found dead by the women at their residence.
Authorities were alerted when the women dropped Layman’s body off at a local hospital and later contacted the hospital with information about him. According to police, Casbohm and Feralo drove Layman’s body to a bank drive-through where they withdrew money from his account. The women reportedly positioned Layman’s body in such a way that it was visible to bank staff during the transaction.

The women admitted to frequently taking money from Layman’s account.
